Prof. Gang Feng / IEEE Fellow
City University of Hong Kong

Title: On Event-Triggered Control with Application to Multi-Agent Systems

Gang Feng received the B.Eng and M.Eng. Degrees in Automatic Control from Nanjing Aeronautical Institute, China in 1982 and in 1984 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1992.
Professor Feng was a Lecturer in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, 1991 and a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer, University of New South Wales, 1992-1999. He has been with City University of Hong Kong since 2000 where he is now a Chair Professor of Mechatronic Engineering. He was also a ChangJiang Chair Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, awarded by Ministry of Education. He has received Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems Outstanding Paper Award, the Best Paper Award of IEEE International Conference on Neural Networks and Signal Processing and the Best Theoretical Paper Award in the Second World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation. He is listed as a SCI highly cited researcher by Thomoson Reuters. He is an author of one research monograph entitled “Analysis and Synthesis of Fuzzy Control Systems: A Model Based Approach”, and over 300 SCI indexed papers including over 110 in IEEE Transactions. His research interests include intelligent systems and control, networked control systems, and multi-agent systems and control.
Professor Feng is a fellow of IEEE. He has been the Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. Automatic Control, IEEE Trans. on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Trans. Systems, Man, & Cybernetics, Mechatronics, Journal of Systems Science and Complexity, and Journal of Control Theory and Applications.

Assoc. Prof. Alvin Y. Chua
De La Salle University, Philippines

Dr. Alvin Chua is an Associate Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department of De La Salle University, Philippines. He earned his BSME, MSME, and Ph.D. in ME at De La Salle University-Manila. As a scholar under the Department of Science and Technology-Engineering and Science Education Project (DOST-ESEP), he conducted his dissertation research at the University of New South Wales, Australia. He received a special citation for the 2003 NAST-DuPont Talent Search for Young Scientists (Mechanical Engineering). He has published several papers in international conferences like Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), and Advance Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM). His research interests are on mechatronics, robotics, optimal estimation, and controls.

Assoc. Prof. Sheila Abaya
University of East-Caloocan, Philippines

Dr. Abaya is currently an Associate Professor in the University of the East – Caloocan, Department of Computer Studies and Systems. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in UE – Manila. Finished her master’s degree in Computer Science at De La Salle University and took her doctorate in Information Technology at Technological Institute of the Philippines – Quezon City. She is a paper reviewer and a technical committee member in several international conferences. She has presented and published several papers in international conferences held in Poland, Hong Kong, Philippines, India and China. Her research interests are into data mining, business intelligence, control systems and mobile applications.
